Spiritualighted is an installation that explores how to create, capture, and distort light. This inquiry began by unraveling the early mythology and science surrounding light and how these explanations instilled a fear of the dark. Humans have always dreamed of conquering and controlling this element, which is now ingrained in our lives as technology; the artist asks the question, are we too reliant on this manufactured source? Projections onto varied surfaces such as glass, mirrors, metal, and fabric create an atmospheric environment for visitors to pause and appreciate the magic of this natural source and the spirits that come alive in the light.
